What is RECOVERY MONTH?
Recovery Monthis an annual observance that takes place during the month of September.
The Recovery Month observance highlights the societal benefits of substance abuse treatment, lauds the contributions of treatment providers and promotes the message that recovery from substance abuse in all its forms is possible. The observance also encourages citizens to take action to help expand and improve the availability of effective substance abuse treatment for those in need. Each year a new theme, or emphasis, is selected for the observance.
Recovery Monthprovides a platform to celebrate people in recovery and those who serve them. Each September, thousands of treatment programs around the country celebrate their successes and share them with their neighbors, friends, and colleagues in an effort to educate the public about treatment, how it works, for whom, and why. Substance abuse treatment providers have made significant accomplishments, having transformed the lives of untold thousands of Americans. These successes often go unnoticed by the broader population; therefore, Recovery Month provides a vehicle to celebrate these successes.
Recovery Month also serves to educate the public on substance abuse as a national health crisis, that addiction is a treatable disease, and that recovery is possible. Recovery Month highlights the benefits of treatment for not only the affected individual, but for their family, friends, workplace, and society as a whole. Educating the public reduces the stigma associated with addiction and treatment. Accurate knowledge of the disease helps people to understand the importance of supporting treatment programs, those who work within the treatment field, and those in need of treatment.

September 11th The Day the Earth Stood Still
This is a tribute to the men and women whose live were taken because of a few men that feel they can change the world with hate, violence and chaos. In many ways the world did change, for now we lack trust and unity, we seize and search whatever and whomever we do not understand. We look at our option for war before we can see the possibilities for understanding or diplomacy.
We can never forget that day when ever one stood still and watched and even our Mother Earth seemed to stop turning that day. We can never forget the people who had no idea of what was about to happen. We must never forget those who tried to defend, help, rescue and lend a helping hand to those in need. And we must never forget all those who run toward the horns of the beast instead of away from it.
If we do not forget September 11th, then history will not forget and we must not forget if there ever is going to be understanding and peace. On that day my heart had no emotion, but every year after that, my heart is sad that we as human beings can do this to one another.
So, my family and the family of man asks the Great Creator to Bless us all in both the seen and unseen worlds, all creatures form the microscopic to the largest in the world, but most of all the two legged, for we still need the Creator's Blessing the most.

Special Thanks to:
Our Creator's Blessings and our thanks to the United States Marine Corps and the U.S.M.C Reserves stationed in Fresno, CA for their hard work on the "Toys For Tots Campaign 2012". This year has been especially hard on families in our community because of the lack of jobs and resources. We are very greatful for the hard work and dedication of the members of the USMC Reserves on the annual campaign of kindness, so that all children in need may receive a gift at Christmas time. It is an honor for our organization to assist the members of the USMC as well as providing help to members of our community.
A special thanks to the Fresno United Way, Fresno for organizing "Toys For Tots Campaign 2012", for your help in making Christmas wishes happen.
